Independent Oslo-based jewelry maker Shitika Agarwal wins a free retail space during Stockholm Design Week. The competition, organized by xNomad, will see the winner open a pop-up shop at Next Gen Retail Hub, Södermalm, on 10-12th of February.

In conjunction with Stockholm Design Week, xNomad, the Nordic region's leading marketplace for pop-ups, organized a competition inviting start-ups, entrepreneurs and e-retailers to test their business concepts in a physical retail environment. A jury of industry experts judged the creativity, originality and potential of the pop-up activation of the companies and selected Shitika Studios as the winner.

Shitika Agarwal originates from India, grew up in Belgium and is now based in Oslo, Norway. Her studio explores jewelry as a work of art, its relationship to the body, and experiments with both materials and scale. The jewelry is made from a combination of handcrafted metal constructions, silver and precious stones and 3D milled recycled plastic, pioneering the sustainable future of jewelry.

Shitika has over six years of experience in jewelry design and silversmithing, as well as production and design and manufacturing knowledge. She holds a Master's degree from Oslo National Academy Of Arts, a Bachelor's degree from Royal Academy Of Fine Arts Antwerp and a Foundation Diploma from University Of The Arts London.

Now the pop-up concept is finally opening at the Next Gen Retail Hub at Mariatorget in Stockholm, and customers will be able to see and buy Shitika studio's handmade, unisex jewelry collections, influenced by nature and automotive design.
